Creating a New Wallet
Metamask Setup
Step 1: Downloading
Download and install Metamask browser extension from https://metamask.io/download/.
Step 2: Create or Import a Wallet
Click on “Create a Wallet” and on the next window click on “I agree” if you would like to help improve MetaMask or click on “No Thanks” to proceed.
If you already have an Ethereum wallet with 12 words seed phrase. You can click on "Import Wallet" to import your existing seed phrase
Step 3: Create a strong password for your wallet.
Password is used for encryption. MetaMask stores the Secret Recovery Phrase, passwords, and private keys in an encrypted format locally on the device where it's installed.
Step 4: Backup your Secret Recovery Phrase
Metamask will give you a 12-word phrase used to back up your wallet. It is important that you store your Secret Recovery Phrase in a safe place. It is the only way to recover your funds should your device crash or your browser reset. It is recommended to write it down. The most common method is to write your 12-word phrase on a piece of paper and store it safely in a place where only you have access. Note: if you lose your Secret Recovery Phrase, Metamask can't help you recover your wallet.
Never give your Secret Recovery Phrase or your private key(s) to anyone or any site, as they will then have full control of your wallet.
Step 5: Seed phrase confirmation
Confirm your secret backup phrase by clicking on each word in the order in which the words were presented on the previous screen. Click on “Confirm” to proceed.
